Warranty Policy

Door-it manufactures doors, frames, and furniture to order using both natural and engineered wood. Because these are natural materials, warranty terms vary by product and by the material used, and each comes with its own exclusions. Please read the terms that apply to your product before installation.

Laminated Doors

Laminated doors are available with a pine, hardwood, or jungle wood flush door core beneath the laminate finish. The board warranty depends on which core is used:

  • Pine core: Lifetime board warranty
  • Hardwood core: 2-year board warranty
  • Jungle wood core: 1-year board warranty

Veneer Doors

Veneer doors are built on a pine flush door core by default, and carry a lifetime board warranty.

Primer-Coated Doors

Primer-coated doors are available with a pine or hardwood flush door core. A primer coat is only a base layer — the final protective paint must be applied correctly before the door is put into use. Warranty claims may be denied on inspection if the top coat of paint was not applied, or was not applied to a good standard.

  • Pine core, used internally: Lifetime board warranty
  • Pine core, used as an external door: 5-year board warranty
  • Hardwood core, used internally: 2-year board warranty
  • Hardwood core, used as an external door: 1-year board warranty

What Laminated, Veneer & Primer-Coated Warranties Don’t Cover

The board warranties above cover manufacturing defects in the door core only. They do not cover: physical damage from impact or misuse; chipping of the laminate or paint along edges and corners; damage caused by external weather, moisture, or exposure; or fading and discolouration of the laminate or paint finish over time.

WPC Doors & WPC Frames

WPC (Wood-Plastic Composite) doors and frames carry a lifetime warranty against termite damage and water damage.

Teak Doors

Teak doors carry a 2-year structural warranty. As teak is a natural wood product, some movement over time is expected and is not considered a manufacturing defect — this includes warping, bending, shrinking, expanding, and surface cracking, none of which are covered under warranty.

Window Frames, Shutters & Custom Furniture

Wooden window frames and shutters, and all custom furniture (dining table & chair sets, sofa sets, cot/beds, teapoys, and other custom pieces), carry the same warranty terms as our teak doors: a 2-year structural warranty, with natural wood movement (warping, bending, shrinking, expanding, and cracking) excluded from coverage.

Installation Requirement

All warranties on this page are valid only when the product is installed by Door-it. If installation is carried out by anyone else, or if the product is installed incorrectly, the warranty will not apply.
