OUR STORY

Three generations of woodworking. One workshop in Mysore since 1999.

Sri Shiva Saw Mills has been cutting, building, and finishing wood in Mysore for over four decades — the same family, the same workshop, more doors than we’ve counted.

HOW WE GOT HERE

From a sawmill to a full workshop.

Sri Shiva Saw Mills was registered in 1999, but the craft behind it is older than that. The family has been working wood across three generations, with 41+ years of combined experience between them — the sawmill simply gave that experience a name and an address.

In the early years, the work was straightforward: timber came in, and it went out cut to size, sold as raw sawn pieces to builders, carpenters, and furniture makers across Mysore.

Over time, we started keeping some of that timber for ourselves — building furniture, and then doors, in-house. What began as a side operation next to the sawmill grew into the main business. As demand grew, so did what we offered: beyond solid teak doors, we added laminated doors, primer-coated doors, and veneer doors, each suited to a different budget and finish.

We didn’t stop at the door itself. Customers wanted frames to match, so we started manufacturing and supplying those too. They wanted the whole room done, not just the door hung, so we began offering installation — and then full project supervision, seeing a woodworking job through from the first plank to the final fitting.

The latest addition is WPC doors and frames — scratch-resistant, teak-finish textures built specifically for bathrooms and other wet areas, along with WPC frame and door installation.

Today, under the Door-it™ name, Sri Shiva Saw Mills manufactures the full range: teak, laminated, primer-coated, veneer, and WPC doors, wooden window frames and shutters, custom teakwood furniture, and wall and floor panelling — all from the same Mysore workshop, still family-run, three generations in.
